the 30th International Scientific Conference EME2026

„Tradition, Continuity, and Innovation
in (Pre)Primary Mathematics Education“


The conference will take place on 22–24 April 2026
at the premises of Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovak Republic)

The aim of the conference is to present the original results of scientific research and professional work in the field of mathematics and didactics of mathematics focused on application in primary and pre-primary mathematics education and in the undergraduate preparation of primary school teachers.

Conference languages: Slovak, Czech, English.

Additional thematic areas include:
  • Historical Perspectives on (Pre)Primary Mathematics Education – continuity of theory, practice, and teacher preparation in the current educational context
  • Mathematical Concepts and Practices in (Pre)Primary Education – from children's play to mathematical structures, argumentation, and conceptual understanding
  • Continuity in Mathematics Education in Preschool and Younger School Age – developmental trajectories, transitions between educational levels, and implications for teacher education
  • Inclusive Mathematics in (Pre)Primary Education – theoretical concepts of inclusion in early mathematics, practical implications, and teacher preparation for diverse classrooms
  • STEAM Approaches in (Pre)Primary Mathematics Education – pedagogical frameworks, didactic applications, and teacher training
  • Artificial Intelligence in (Pre)Primary Mathematics Education – continuity of didactic principles, new learning support tools, and implications for teacher education

Conference fee:
Early birds 120 EUR – registration until 15.2.2026
